In this novel, a curmudgeonly bookstore owner's life transforms when his prized rare book is stolen and he finds a mysterious delivery in his shop. The story, set on a small island of the East Coast, follows the title character as he navigates grief, love, and unexpected parenthood, while rediscovering the joy of connecting with others and the power of stories to change lives.
